NFF approves Yusuf, Shorunmu for Siasia

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the appointment of Kano Pillars coach, Salisu Yusuf and former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu as assistants to Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia.

This was contained in a release by Chief Media Officer of the NFF, Ademola Olajire, and issued to SuperSport.com after the Executive Committee of the NFF met on Wednesday, December 29, at the Le Meridien Hotel, Uyo, to deliberate on crucial matters affecting Nigerian football.

According to the release, Simon Kalika will serve as Siasia’s first assistant, while Yusuf and Shorunmu, will be second and third assistants, respectively.

The decision of the NFF to confirm both Nigerian coaches has finally cleared the air over
Siasia’s assistants.

Yusuf and Shorunmu are no strangers to Siasia as they have worked with him at one time or the other. Yusuf was in Siasia’s technical crew at the 2009 Fifa world youth championship, in Egypt, while Shorunmu spent sometime with Siasia at Nigeria Premier League side, Heartland
